Being healthy

I am not the poster child for health over here by any means. I eat a lot of sugary breads, I drink too much wine, and I could stand to lose a pound or 2. Or 20. But I'm happy and I believe that's all that matters.
I do, though, have a fear of aging too soon and getting sick. Anything from from a cold to cancer. That shit scares me.
So I do what I can to reverse the signs of aging and keep away those germs.

Yoga, I love. I don't do it as often as I would like, but I do it enough. It feels good and I really do feel wonderful afterward.

Vitamins. I take all of these things everyday. Some twice a day. The aleve, no. That was for my cramps. Oy. That chloroxygen stuff down there is awesome for your skin. I use other creams and such for that problem but I'm mostly a work from the inside out person.

My last and favorite remedy is green tea. I drink this stuff all. day. long. It keeps me going, revs up my metabolism and fights disease. It's a win win win!

Today I want to go back to work

Two year olds.

Days like this make me wish I had a job to go to. Any job. Just to take me away. Talk to people my own age. Use my brain. Wear cute clothes. And heels.

But then I put my sweet boy down for his 2.5 to 3 hour nap, I get my exercise on and then hop in the tub with Catching Fire and all of those feelings drift away.

No.

I really don't want a job just yet.

My friend had a baby girl 2 days ago. Rachel Ruth. I made her some little flower headbands. I also got to use some of my stamps to dress up the packaging. This kind of stuff makes me happy.

DIY

That salsa jar you're about to throw away, don't. Wrap that baby up in some twine or anything else you have handy. Throw some pencils or crayons in there and call it a day.

Arch is over on Baby Blackbird today. This is seriously the cutest kiddie blog ever.

Staches on a stick

Never in a million years did I think I'd be making staches on a stick. But money talks. And I kind of enjoyed those 5 minutes I spent today posing in front of the webcam.

Hearts and stamps and books and...

Today is my day off. Archie goes to the sitter and I get very anxious. Meaning I do more stuff on this day than any other day. It's the opposite of relaxing. One of these days I will figure out how to maybe possibly do nothing on this day. I'm sensing that will never happen.

One of my many chores is to finish these hearts that I am making for a store in Nob Hill. I've made a few things and sold them there and I like to keep a steady flow going in. I don't make a ton of cash money, but I like that people buy my stuff. It makes a girl feel good.

These will be cute for Valentines Day, I think. Buy one or buy a few for a "bouquet".

I'm thinking of adding a few felt triangles to the end to make them into arrows. Maybe? God, I love to make stuff.

I've also gotten into making stamps.

Here's my scrap paper with all of my stamp designs. Nothing that will blow one's mind, but let me tell you! Put on some classical music, start carving and you will be so entranced that the dinner may or may not get burned.

In other news, I am still doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, Level 2 and I am reading The Hunger Games. I recommend both.

Homemade hand soap

I made some hand soap! I found this diy here, which was found here, and decided to give it a try. I wanted to use a nice soap so I ventured out to Whole Foods and picked up a bar of their Lemon Verbena. After that it was just shred, cook and try to be patient as it sits for 12 hours. It came out great, with my only complaint being that I made too much. I decided to give some away so I put a portion of the batch into a large Palmolive container, whipped up a cute label and voila!

A few things

If I see something I like, I make it. Especially when the price tag confuses me.

Yesterday I scrambled 4 eggs and 2 of them had 2 yolks inside. I was happy.

Shameless. Oh my, what a show.

I like hair.
I like French.
I like music.
This site is doing it for me.

BKFST. Do not enter if you are the least bit hungry.

I finally LOVE being a stay at home mom.

Hello 2012

2012 started off great.

We had a shindig. Lobster and prosecco. Lots of prosecco.

Bubba got his bimonthly haircut.

I made some bowls. Clay and Martha Stewart paint. Easy peasy.

And then it went downhill with a trip to the ER.

Of course it seemed worse to this first time mom whose child has never been to the doctor for more than his shots. Six stitches and now he's fine.

I'm thinking it can only get better from here.

It's good to be back.

Merry Christmas Eve

When you're this cute it's hard to pick just one.

It feels good to be back.

Is anybody out there?

I'm thinking about coming back. After the new year. A fresh start. Holla!
